Brow Update

Hey Guys!

Apologies on the absence of blog posts recently I have been very busy! Hopefully I will be able to get back into doing them weekly for you! You read it on the internet so it must be true 😉 I hope everyone has been doing well!

I feel like it has been forever since I got my brows tattooed when in reality it has been 5 weeks. I really want to take you guys on my brow journey with me as I feel like it is the best way for you to be able to know whats happening and just how happy I am with my brows. I literally couldn’t be happier with them!

The last time you guys heard about my brows I had just had them tattooed and even though they were fairly sensitive they looked amazing – I can say that because I didn’t do them. I had all the fun stuff to look forward to still such as the tattoo scabbing and then healing.

The healing process was not nearly as frustrating as I thought it was going to be. For anyone who has no tattoos you may not know that when you get a tattoo your skin scabs 3-4 days after having it done. The annoying thing about that is that you can’t touch the scabs because if you pull them off they more often than not pull the ink out with them.

Brow Tattooing

Hey Guys!

I hope everyone is well and has had a wonderful two weeks! I have been very busy as usual and I escaped to Coffs Harbour for 4 days with my sister to get away from a bit of the craziness! Just picture me on a catamaran in the middle of the ocean nose diving into huge waves trying not to topple out of the boat or get eaten by a whale and I’m sure you will stay entertained for a while. Pretty sure the below picture tells you what was going through my mind at the time…

Now on to the good stuff! Some of you know and some of you don’t that I have hardly any eyebrow…just a little tuft of hair at the front of each brow. As a makeup artist I have always been skeptical about brow ‘tattooing’ as the old style method was either black that faded to green or brown that faded to pink and was done in a block that you were stuck with for the rest of your life. Thankfully, things are very different nowadays.

I was out for dinner a few months ago on the Gold Coast and I got onto the subject of eyebrows with a friend of a friend – because what else is there to talk about in this world other than brows? – and she told me that she follows this amazing lady called ‘Amy Jean Eye Couture’ (@amyjeaneyecouture) and they do brow tattooing. I asked if I could see them and was absolutely blown away by the amazing before and after photographs that were shown on their Instagram. Read More…

The importance of skin care

Hey guys!

I hope everyone has had an amazing two weeks! Sorry about my delayed blog post! Last week was crazy busy and I didn’t get a chance to write one for you! So hopefully this week’s will be twice as good… 😉

sunshine coastThe last two weeks have been jammed packed with trials, formals, weddings and a photoshoot that had us floating around Noosa river on a boat for half the day which was awesome! Since moving back from Sydney I have fallen back in love with the Sunshine Coast and all its beautiful scenery! The photoshoot is being published in December and I can’t wait for you guys to see it! Watch this space!

Okay, now onto the interesting stuff! I thought I would dedicate this weeks post to skincare. Skincare is one of my favourite things to talk about – to anyone who knows me they know that is saying a lot… I love to talk! – and it is also something I feel very passionately about. To give you a little bit of background about my skin, it is literally the oiliest skin you have ever come across in your life. I have had to train myself not to touch my face whilst wearing makeup as if I do the makeup will come straight off as oil breaks down makeup. Read More…

How to perfect your eyeshadow!

Hey guys!

I hope everyone has had an amazing week. I have had a smashing start to the week so far… bearing in mind it’s only Monday but I am holding out hope that the week finishes the same way it started! 😉 My parents are now back from Europe which means I am no longer looking after the terrifying birds or three dogs. I am thoroughly enjoying having them home as I have missed my mother interfering when I try and do things in the kitchen (it’s okay Mum I still love you!), no but really, I have missed them a lot more than I was expecting, hence me being over the moon that they have returned.

This week we are continuing with our eyeshadow journey and I am going to be telling you all about different brush strokes as well as different textures of eyeshadow and how they affect the overall look of your makeup. I am not going to be teaching everyone how to do a smokey eye in my blog posts – much to everyones dismay, I know – as it would be way too long for everyone to read. If smokey eyes are something you want to learn how to do then I would suggest booking in for a lesson – my price list as well as my booking and contact details are also on my website.

When it comes to applying eyeshadows there is a lot more to take into consideration than what colour you are going to wear. You need to think about texture, depth of colour, how you are wearing the rest of your makeup and also what the occasion is. Luckily for you guys the information I am about to give you can be used every time you apply your eyeshadow whether you are going to work, a wedding, a party etc. Read More…
